Cool real tiki feel, right on the Mariana. Super hot and gross but it's super cool! No ac but fans everywhere. The bar is super authentic. I ordered the piña colada with vodka. It was lame, basically a slushy. My hubby ordered the blue Hawaiian which you could definitely taste the booze. They ran out of the shrimp and ahi so we just got one drink and left. I would def come back

We had a nice evening with great service and fun drinks. The menu is somewhat basic: the kind of thing you find at any brewpub with fried items and a few fresh fish dishes. The decor, location and drinks make up for the limited menu. Definitely worth a visit if you want to experience historical Tiki chic!

Atmosphere is top notch classic tiki bar/restaurant. We came mostly for that alone, but did order food and drinks. Food was all average quality at best. Drink were decent, but not incredibly. Service was good once we were seated. I need to mention we were not greeted by anyone for quite some time and stood around the host/hostess stand until I gave up and asked a waitress if we could get seated. Even with all the negative issues, I'd still come back just because I don't want places like this to vanish.

I friggin LOVE me a tiki bar and this is the Queen of old kitschy Hawaii tiki joints! From the moment you walk on property, you are greeted by plants, bamboo fencing, tiki decor, and you feel like you stepped back in time to 1940. I would almost expect a pinup girl to walk through the front door as I sat at the bar. You might think a place like this would serve overly sugared, silly drinks and mediocre food, but you would be wrong. The cocktails are wicked strong, and two of them will probably have you swaying like a sailor on a ship. The food is also excellent. We got several appetizers and entrées, and then of course dessert. All of it was top notch. The best part was that we went on a Tuesday afternoon because it was a state holiday and I had the day off work. The place was not at all crowded and we felt like we had it to ourselves... This little oasis in the middle of an industrial area. it allowed me to walk around and take photos of Tikki collection and appreciate the beautiful architecture of this bar.

La Mariana Sailing Club is one of the oldest tiki bars still in operation in Honolulu and one of our favorite places to bring family and friends visiting the islands. The ambiance is a perfect mix of fun and kitschy Hawaii vibes while representing the history of the family who started this business. The menu consists of no frills classic bar food and the strong tropical cocktails. The service is great especially if you're able to snag a bar seat. They underwent a renovation during the pandemic and locals and tourists alike could not be happier this establishment reopened and is back in full force.

First things first.. MK was great! When you walk in, it took a while to get acknowledged but their sign does say they are short staffed. Once we were greeted by MK or Mary Kat our experience changed. She was great, very attentive and very sweet server.. We ordered a round of drinks + calamari to start -Mai tai (7/10) decent maintai -Margarita 7/10 (bitter) -Hawaiian Sunset (sweet but strong) 10/10 -Singapore Sling (very good) 9/10 * all drinks come with a kick so no need to order a floater Food: -ahi butter, capers (very good) 10/10 -ahi burger (very good) 9/10 -butterfly shrimp (very good) 10/10 *Mac salad is to die for, comes with a big portion too Ambiance: campy Hawaiian style restaurant with a tiki feel.. very cute, very small but feels like you are In a movie.. caution (restaurant is open air so it can be stuffy) Overall; we will return, preferably with a night that has live music! Very good meal *sit at the bar if you want that true tiki hut feel

Tiki Tiki Tiki! Take me back to Gilligan's Island holding a mai tai with 10 little pink umbrellas in it! This place feels like it was dropped in this location 100 years ago and has not changed one bit. Think full on grass hula skirt, tiki torches, old wooden furniture, gorgeous water views, loud Hawaiian shirts etc. You go for the ambiance, not the food. The food is.... fine. If you are hungry you will find something but that's not the reason you go to this place. You go to just step away from the "normal". I would recommend making it a "theme" night and taking a bunch of friends! Great sunset views. Easy parking

Hadn't been to this well known eatery in years so it was a real treat to return. When you walk in it's like stepping back in time when Honolulu didn't have mile high condominiums and you could hear soothing Hawaiian music played everywhere. We had reservations for our large group (there was already a large group of men right behind us) and thankfully, the place wasn't packed but had quite a few people enjoying their meals & drinks closer to the open "windows", which overlook the ocean and piers where private boats were docked. Because it was lunchtime and not everyone in our group arrived at the same time we had to wait for drinks (not too long). Lunch took awhile to come as well and the the Maître 'D wasn't too happy about how many chairs we squeezed around two tables. Our server, Star, was a star as she took our orders and brought everything out as items were ready. She had patience with us (bless her heart for her kindness) throughout the process. As a future reminder, La Mariana charges a 20% gratuity on groups larger than 6 and they only provide one check, not individual. Make sure you have at least one person in your group who's good at counting and making sure everyone has put in their portion.

The most iconic thing about La Mariana is it's location. It's located in a secluded part of town that is away from the hustle and bustle. It's a low key tiki restaurant with a great view to relax and watch the sunset. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere and decor are cozy. I tried the fish and chips and it was really unique to others that I've tried. They fry a large piece of fish and the battery is extremely crispy while the inside is tender and juicy. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a laid-back place to chill and drink with friends that isn't too loud.

Such a classic vibe. Think classic Hawai'i. Tiki bar that's kitschy but not cheesy. It's known to be the last true tiki bar on Oahu. Renovated and reopened in 2022, I am so glad to have finally checked this spot out after hearing so much about it. History lesson: originally opened in Sand Island in the late 1950s by Annette La Mariana Nahinu along side her husband. The current standing establishment originally opened in 1975 after weather destroyed the original structure. Since most tiki bars closed Annette collected the relics from around Oahu, which are displayed around La Marianna. While Annette died in 2008, her tiki bar tradition lives on, transporting you back in time. Walk in and you're immediately immersed in Bali Hai style. Lots of fishing nets, colorful sea-glass balls, old carved tikis, seashell and pufferfish lamps with koa wood tables and rattan chairs. There's even a waterfall inside the restaurant! The sunset views are something else! Serving up classic cocktails (Mai Tai is a must!) and Hawaiian bar food which is simple, no frills, decent but also nothing to write home about. From friends, I've heard the menu has downsized but prices are fair and portions are decent. You come here for the ambiance and stay for the drinks. Live music 7 days/week. Plenty of seating. Service was great! Sure you can drive up to enjoy the establishment but it's also fun to arrive by boat and park at the private marina. I hope this place stays around for another 100+ years!
